What's more important: time or money?

I'm in a big dilemma.
There's a long weekend on Feb21st and Nikhil's planning to visit me. Now, you must be wondering as to why is he making the trip again. It was my turn this time. Well, the first reason is that he hasn't asked me to visit him while I have invited him a dozen times already. The second and the most important reason is that I'm broke and cannot afford a flight ticket.
Nikhil has two options: to take a non-stop 6 hour flight which would cost him $500 or a $300 worth, 10 hours flight which would require him to change some where in Pennyslyvania. He has left the decision making to me. And I'm not sure what I want.
Should I care about the money or the extra 4 hours that I get to share with him?
Now, a part of me believes that time is money. You can always make money but time once lost can never be regained. And considering the fact that we have hardly seen each other over the past 8 months, time is more important.
But at the same time, there is the other part which whispers that the money saved on this trip can be used to fund another trip.
What should I do? I'm confused!!!
